The Line Creek Civitan Club’s 2005 Great Chili Challenge will be held on tomorrow, November 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Shakerag Knoll, adjacent to the Frederick Brown Amphitheater, in Peachtree City. Ed O’Bar, the Event Chairperson, says, “This will be a great day of fun and fellowship for the entire family. Participants will also have the opportunity to taste some fabulous chili!”

Admission for the general public is $2 per person or $5 for a family of up to five members. The ticket price includes a ballot to vote for your favorite chili and a chance to win one of the many door prizes. If there are more than five family members, additional door prize tickets may be purchased. Soft drinks, coffee, hot chocolate and water will be on sale and two “Moon Walk” attractions are provided for the children in attendance.

The winner of this year's fund raising raffle will be presented with a fully reconditioned 2003 E-Z-GO Golf Cart. The winning ticket will be announced at 3 p.m, prior to the close of the Great Chili Challenge. Raffle tickets, $10 each, will be sold up to the time of the drawing. Purchasers do not have to be present to claim the Grand Prize. In addition, other door prizes will be given out at designated times throughout the day's event.

The Master of Ceremonies at this year’s Chili Challenge will be “Uncle Rich,” also known as radio deejay “The Voice” at 720AM and "Magic" 98.1FM. According to Julia Ivey, president of the Line Creek Civitan Club, “all proceeds from this event will support local community charities and Civitan projects that work to improve the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities.”
