Janie Evens, 56, Peachtree City, died July 4, 2006. She was born Oct. 27, 1949 in Latrobe, Pa. She was graduated from Grove City College in Pennsylvania in 1971. She was a past president and chairperson of the board of the Flat Creek Ladies Golf Association. Services were at the Carmichael-Hemperley chapel. Survivors include her husband, Tom Evens; stepson, Jason Evens, Kennesaw; stepdaughter, Kristeena Garcia, Crestview, Fla.; a brother, Grant Neely, Ind.; a sister, Dianne Dillon, Mich.; a granddaughter, Ashley Garcia; nephews, Colin, Christ, and Patrick; and a niece, Kelly. Memorial donations may be made to the Susan B. Koman Breast Cancer Research, 5005 LBJ Pkwy., Ste. 350, Dallas, TX 75244. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
