William ‘Bill’ Tarrant, 80, Fayette County, died June 30, 2006. He was born March 8, 1926 in Fulton County. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, World War II, and was retired from Atlanta Newspapers with 30 years of service. He made wooden toys for his children and grandchildren, and loved baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Paul Carrier officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Martha Kelley Tarrant, Fayette County; children, Allen and Susan Tarrant, Huntington Beach, Calif., Robert and Diane Burroughs, Palmetto, Brenda and Wayne Corman, Eagle Lake, Texas; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Dot and Leon Roberts, Nashville, Tenn., Jewel Robinson, Marietta, Betty and Marvin Morris, Fairburn, Janie Bannister, Hampton, Ted Tarrant, Riverdale, Shirley and Harold McCarroll, Locust Grove, and Linda Barber, Newnan. Memorial donations may be made to Christ’s Church at Whitewater, or Healthfield Hospice. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
