Gospel sings are back on; set for July 21 and 22

The Grantville gospel singings, temporarily halted by a misunderstanding between depot officials and event organizers, are back on the calendar at the Old Freight Depot in Grantville. This month’s events are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 21 and 22, beginning at 7 p.m.

The concerts are free and usually last about 2 or three hours. Refreshments are available. The depot is adjacent to Colley Park on Main Street in Grantville.

Friday’s featured groups will be the Rev. Danny Spencer from Newnan, The Whites from Grantville, Randy and Amazing Grace from Franklin, the Altos from Hogansville, and a very special guest, 15-year-old Casey Lawson from LaGrange.

Saturday’s performance will featureTri-Cities from Trickum Valley, Ala., Young Spirit from Manchester, the Atkins Family from Newnan, and the Gospel Messengers from LaGrange.

Another Southern gospel concert is scheduled for Aug. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Meriwether County Airport between Greenville and Warm Springs.

Featured performers will be Second Coming from Griffin, Jimmy Norred from Hogansville and the Rev. Danny Spencer from Newnan.
