Early voting period startsMon, 07/10/2006 - 9:55am
By: John Munford
Voting for next Tuesday’s primary election began today and runs through Friday at 5 p.m. at the Fayette County Board of Elections Office, located in the county’s Stonewall government complex in Fayetteville. Any registered voter can vote this week (as long as you haven’t yet voted absentee for the election) during normal business hours at the office, bypassing the potential of long lines when everyone heads to the polls on the traditional “election day” Tuesday. The early voting option will not be available Monday, however. Anyone who hasn’t voted by then will have to wait until Tuesday, when polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The elections office is located on the second floor at the county Stonewall complex. To get to the elections office, enter the center of the L-shaped building, go upstairs and take a left when exiting the atrium. The elections office entrance is the second door on your left. login to post comments |
