The McIntosh Lady Chiefs are a match away from the state finals and a possible rematch with Woodward Academy, a team that has defeated them in all three matches between the two teams this season. Before that can happen, McIntosh needed to get past Marist, a team they played last night after the paper went to press, and Woodward Academy needed to defeat Chamblee. If both schools won, they will meet on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Westminster.

McIntosh has an overall record of 45-12 and the Lady Chiefs defeated two region champions last week to make the final four of AAAA. They defeated Jonesboro (25-13, 25-10), and Ringgold twice (25-13, 25-18) and (25-20, 25-23 and 25-18). The Lady Chiefs got huge performances from a number of players last week including Andrea Lowery, Danielle Crawford, Megan Cheatham, Samantha Krehel and Kelsey Argumosa among others.

Marist (46-6) has won 20 of 21 matches since McIntosh beat them in September. The Lady War Eagles defeated Lithia Springs (25-12, 25-19), Greenbrier (25-4, 25-9) and Lithia Springs again (25-9, 25-15, 25-18).
