Years of planning and development came to fruition Thursday with the grand opening of South Fulton Parkway. The remaining phase of construction, from Rivertown Road to Cochran Mill Road, was named in honor of long-time parkway advocate Bill Melear. The scenic parkway bisects South Fulton County, beginning at I-285 and ending at the Chattahoochee River and Douglas County.
