Two local Fayetteville residents, Jessica Dutton and Toniese Craft, attending Clayton State University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program participated in the Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis walk at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 20.

Team “Laker Nurses” hoped to have 20 students walk and to raise $1,500 to help find a cure for men, women, and children with this tragic disease. With a team of only six student nurses, the "Laker Nurses" surpassed their donation goal and raised $1,700.

The total organizational goal was to raise $40,000 and triumphantly raised over $44,000. Other team participants from CSU included Elizabeth Skinner (Team Leader, Coweta), Ashley Scardasis (Henry), Patricia Shepard (Dekalb), and Nicole White (Gwinnett).
