Few Good Men, Marine makeover

On July 7, 8, 14, and 15 Pyke and Associates, P.C. and The Twilight Theatre will present “A Few Good Men” at the Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater in Peachtree City. Having found a few greatly talented folks to fill the various roles in the show, the group now looks to the community for help.

The script by Aaron Sorkin tells the story of two young, dedicated Marines who find themselves on trial for murder. The two are defended by Daniel Kaffee, Sam Weinberg and Joanne Galloway and prosecuted by Jackie Ross in a court martial presided over by Judge Randolph. Two cast members -- Scott Couch (who plays Colonel Nathan Jessup) and Ed Jackson (who plays Lt. Colonel Markinson) -- are real-life retired Marines, who, when not on stage, serve as Marine advisors, ensuring that those playing Marines look, sound, and move authentically. "We have Marine advisors," says Director Alison Chambers. "Now we're looking for Navy advisors." If you're in or retired from the Navy and are willing to attend a few rehearsals to inspect and make sure that those playing Navy roles look, sound, and move authentically, please let Chambers know by sending an e-mail to Alison@TheTwilightTheatre.com.

Though this show will only be its third production, The Twilight Theatre has already become well known for the professional quality of its shows, its pre-show festivities and opportunities for audience participation. The patriotic pre-show begins at 7:30 each night, and curtain is at 8 p.m. "As for audience participation," says Chambers "we're looking for veterans and/or those on active duty in any branch of the military to serve as sentries. We're accepting nominations from the community and will select one or two sentries each night who will remain in the sentry tower on stage. It's our way of paying tribute and expressing our appreciation for those who, as Joanne Galloway says, stand guard so that we can sleep at night." To nominate yourself or others, send an e-mail to Alison@TheTwilightTheatre.com.

Tickets for “A Few Good Men” are available at Ticketmaster.com, as well as at all Ticketmaster locations and at the amphitheater box office during normal business hours.
