Button Gwinnett Society travel to WashingtonWed, 06/28/2006 - 9:09am

Members of the Button Gwinnett Society traveled to Washington, D.C. for the Children of the American Revolution's 2006 National Convention. The Button Gwinnett Society earned a Blue National Merit award, the second highest award a local society can receive for their year's activites. The society was also awarded first place for the most comprehensive effort to aid the Mountain Schools, first place for the best program for the American Indian contest, and first place from the National Historian for the best society's children's booklet. The society received certificates for participation in the National Prayer Chain and participation in the Patriotic Education Program. The Button Gwinnett Society, Children of the American Revolution serves Clayton, Fayette, and Henry counties.
