Shame on AJC for Luckovich cartoon

To the AJC: Mike Luckovich’s political cartoon of 22 June likening the U.S. military to al Qaeda was tasteless, uncalled for, and hurtful to those serving this country.

AJC’s inane attempt to rationalize the cartoon is a priceless example of why the liberal media today is losing subscriptions, and going out of business. The publication of this cartoon depicts a lack of journalistic leadership on the part of senior management within your publication.

Surely you can see the slippage in your subscriptions at a time when this market is growing. No doubt your advertisers are beginning to experience a slippage in their investment. Would think that someone in your ivory tower would be asking the question, “Why?”

A major loss thus far in the war on terror has not only been the 2,500 heroes in uniform, but the media this country once prized. Your disdain for the current commander-in-chief far outweighs your love for the USA. You prove the latter on a daily basis with your consistent leftist dribble. Luckovich’s 22 June cartoon was merely the latest installment.

You can continue your “high fiving” over your Pulitzer Prizes at others’ expense. But, as the USA comes up on crunches for manpower to fill the military ranks, and some in the next generation question whether folks of your ilk are worth their personal sacrifice, who will you then blame? Many of us will remember where the AJC stood when.

Shame on you, AJC! Shame on you, Luckovich!
