In order to effectively address the growth Tyrone faces, the town’s infrastructure must be managed. Quality traffic engineering is paramount. Examples of such needs include: (1) A deceleration lane added to 74 southbound at E Crestwood; (2) Drivers must be able to turn from Castlewood onto Senoia Road without waiting indefinitely; (3) When trains are moving through town, drivers should be able to turn right and left off Tyrone Road onto Senoia Road without having to wait for the entire train to pass. I applaud the efforts of the volunteer downtown planning committee to look at all aspects of downtown Tyrone and the committee’s inclusion of business owners, sports coaches and other interested residents. People I’ve talked with appreciate all efforts to make the downtown “people-friendly”, pedestrian walk-ways and adequate parking. We are looking forward to the green space development of the “triangle” across from First Baptist Church, integrating the property into the Downtown Plan. Extension of our cart path system should continue. Many Tyrone families enjoy walking or biking. Our residents have questioned why the Tyrone cart path system doesn’t adjoin Peachtree City’s, continuing south on Senoia Road. Tyrone is a WONDERFUL community! I will do everything I can to keep the vision of Tyrone alive and in front of all planning decisions. If elected, I commit not only to listen to the issues at hand but to solicit input from the residents of Tyrone about potential solutions. I further commit to working WITH the residents in making Tyrone the town we can all be proud of and enjoy. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Michael Server |
