As in previous years, The Citizen has invited Fayette County candidates in the primary election this July to submit 400-word essays to communicate their positions to the voting public.

This year, we also invited the candidates for the two posts on the Fayette County Commission and the two posts on the Fayette County Board of Education to answer several questions formulated by the staff of The Citizen.

The answers to the questions and the candidates’ essay are on this and following pages.

The following candidates were invited to participate in this free forum, but submitted neither essays nor answers to our questions:

For Board of Education — Dr. Bob Todd.

For Georgia House of Representatives, Post 72: Bill Bonner (Republican).
