Kevin Madden (D) 2006

Dear friends,

I’m a small-business owner who decided to get involved in politics because I was sick and tired of politicians at election time promising to do this and that, and as soon as they got to wherever it was they wanted to go, they attached themselves to whatever lobbyist had money to give them so they could get re-elected. I believe it’s time we put the “public” back into public servant.

I’ve always believed that government runs best, not from the left or right, but from the “middle.” WE are the middle:

• the people who care about the economy because we worry about our jobs

• the people who care about our education system because it means the difference between success and failure for our children

• the people who care about an affordable healthcare system that benefits all of us

• the people who care about our environment because we want to breathe clean air and drink pure water, as we are the shepherds of God’s good earth

• the people who care about our property rights and personal freedoms because that’s what we have been fighting for since our country was founded.

Small businesses in our state employ most of our workforce. As a small-business owner, I understand that government has a large impact on whether or not we’re successful.

Good government does not regulate small business to death.

Good government helps small business by backing loans and providing other support to create an atmosphere where they can prosper and provide additional employment.

I will work with the legislature to help create this atmosphere.

Education, healthcare, opportunity, and security are the primary issues of my campaign. In the next few weeks, I will be using this Citizen Election Forum to outline my platform as your state representative to help fulfill the needs of Fayette County. My campaign is beholden to no one except to the voters of District 72.

If you are interested in a change from politics as usual, please visit my Web site at www.campaignwindow.com/electkevinmadden to read more about my position on the issues.

Thank you for your time and kind consideration.

Kevin Madden
Candidate
State House District 72
