The National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) has recognized the achievements of the Fayette County School System’s public relations office with three Merit Awards.

The awards were given for the 2005-2006 teacher recruitment brochure and two Channel 24 videos, “Cross Country and Beyond” and “Katrina Fundraising Efforts.”

The awards are part of the NSPRA annual Publications and Electronic Media contest which recognizes distinguished achievement in communication activities conducted by school public relations departments across the nation.

This year, 1,052 entries were received for the competition. Out of those entries, 220 publications and 33 audio/visual projects received Merit Awards. The school system’s award winning brochure will displayed in the Publications Exchange Center at the NSPRA National Seminar in Chicago July 9-12.

“This is truly a honor for the school system. Having our efforts recognized at a national level reinforces the school system’s commitment to excellence at all levels of operation,” says Public Information Specialist Melinda Berry-Dreisbach.
