John Russell James Sr. and Celestine James of Atlanta announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Patricia Yvonne James of College Park, to Walter Carnell Flowers, son of Cornelia Diane Flowers of East Point.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Beatrice King of Lumber City and the late B.K. King of McRae, and the late Mary Louise James and the late Evege James Sr. of Lumber City. She is a 1998 graduate of Benjamin E. Mays High School in Atlanta and a 2001 graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., with a bachelor of science degree in accounting. She currently is employed with the accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP in Atlanta.

The groom elect is the grandson of the late Tom Flowers Sr. and Elizabeth Flowers of LaGrange. He is a 1998 graduate of Benjamin E. Mays High School in Atlanta and a 2002 graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro with a bachelor of science degree in business and sports management. He currently is employed with Fulton County Schools and officiates college basketball and football at the Division I, II and III levels.

The wedding will be Saturday, July 1, 2006, at 4 p.m., at Cornerstone Community Baptist Church in Atlanta.
