There are only six days left until Election Day, and by virtue of reading this, it tells me you are either undecided or you are here to reaffirm your inclination. I urge you to go to the past two issues of the Citizen to get my specific platform positions or to my website at www.TennantforMayor.com. I want your vote, and I will work hard to get it, so if you have any questions, please call or email me at your convenience. Rather than the usual diatribe of “Vote for me because I’m better than the other guys”, I want to take this opportunity to commend each of the men running for mayor and to wish them the very best in this election. We have all worked hard, and now it’s up to you. Hopefully, I have made my case effectively as to why I believe I am your best choice to serve as your mayor. If not, it’s my fault, not yours. Here are the key questions to remember when you go into that voting booth next week. Do we need a change in leadership in the mayor’s office? If so, who best represents the best interests of my family? Who has the necessary experience? Who will fight annexation to keep our lifestyle special and unique? Who has a proven track record of fiscal conservatism? Who will fight the hardest to keep my taxes low and control excessive spending? Who will make sure that public safety is Priority One? Who has the necessary relationships already built with the county commission, our state legislators, and Congressman Lynn Westmoreland? Who understands that relationship building with business and industry is vital for our long-term sustained growth? It is my hope and prayer that I will be your candidate of choice. I will not promise perfection: in fact I guarantee you I will make mistakes along the way. But what I can guarantee you is that I will serve you with humility, with pride and with an unending thirst to rebuild the bridges of trust and communication with our citizens, city staff, local governments, and the business community. With your help and with God’s blessing, I will serve you to the best of my ability, always striving to do what is right and honorable. I urge you to vote next Tuesday, November 8, and I humbly and respectfully ask for your support. Dan Tennant login to post comments |
