The construction date is not yet set but nearly all the hurdles are cleared for Score Indoor Sports soccer facility on Oakley Industrial Boulevard. Fairburn City Council June 19 approved the revised site plan for the 48,000 square-foot facility.

Situated on 4.25 acres on the south side of Oakley between Ga. Highway 74 and Bohannon Road, the facility will feature two 80-foot by 180-foot soccer fields, a 50-foot by 80-foot training field, restrooms and concession area. Parking on the north and east sides of the lot will accommodate 115 vehicles. The facility will have limited bleacher seating, with owners saying the complex is primarily designed for team and league play as opposed to attempting to draw large numbers of spectators.

Council members approved the revised site plan with five conditions. Those included the requirement to maintain a 50-foot buffer undisturbed landscaped buffer along the rear of the property line, to provide interparcel access to adjacent tracts and provide fire access to the southwestern portion of the building. Approved building plans and landscape plans must be professionally prepared and signed off by the city.
