Gayle Lamb Parker, 56, Fayetteville, died June 12, 2006. She was born Feb. 6, 1950 in Chambers County, Ala. She was a resident of Fayette County for 30 years. She was actively involved in outreach and mission work at New Hope Baptist Church. She was the cheerleading coordinator for the Blue Devils Football Cheerleading program, and served as vice president of the Mixed Doubles ALTA Tennis League. She also served as a mentor for the Fayette County school system. Services were at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Thompson, the Rev. Rhys Stenner, the Rev. Wallace McAbee, and Carl Presley officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include husband, Tom Parker, Fayetteville; a daughter, Julie and Keith Martin, Woodstock; a granddaughter, Kendall Martin; parents, Jim and Ruth Lamb, Fayetteville; a sister, Judy and Melvin Owens; and nephew, Dustin Owens. Memorial donations may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church, 551 New Hope Road, Fayetteville, GA 30214. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
