Dale and Cathie Lakeman of Wedowee, Ala., formerly of Fayetteville, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Amanda Kay, to Brandon Wayne Tech, son of Vance Tech of Crestview, Fla.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mickey and Jean Williams of Sharpsburg, Bill and Jewel Lakeman of Haleyville, Ala., and the late Rose Lakeman of Haleyville. She is a 2004 graduate of Sandy Creek High School and is a junior at Auburn University, majoring in veterinary medicine. She currently is the assistant manager at Toomer’s Drugs in Auburn.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Ralph Tech of Micanopy, Fla., John and Hazel Carlucci of Hollywood, Fla., Edward and Virginia Clark of Locust Grove, and Mary Koenigsburg of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and currently is a police officer with the Opelika Police Department in Opelika, Ala.

The wedding will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2006, at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crestview, Fla.
