Fairburn Business Assoc. meets

The next meeting of the Fairburn Business Association takes place June 19, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fairburn Annex, 40 Washington Street in Fairburn. Barkley Russell will be the featured speaker.

Russell, who chairs the annual Arts, Antiques and Music Festival, will update the members on plans for this years event and will also provide the group with opportunities for participation in support of the festival which is October 7.

The meeting is open to all business owners and others interested in becoming involved in support of the association and the City of Fairburn. Future meetings in July and August include a government affairs presentation by Scott Vaughan, a member of the Fairburn City Council and an update on the Fairburn comprehensive plan by Courtney Power from Integrated Science and Engineering.

Association plans include a summer music series “Concert at the Courthouse”, a “Meet The Candidates” forum in the fall as well as regular member breakfast meetings beginning later in the year.

The Fairburn Business Association is a private-sector business membership association representing business owners and professionals from throughout the Fairburn area. Membership is open to sole proprietors, home based business owners, retailers and companies of all sizes.
