Locals honored at Atlanta Christian College awards day

Atlanta Christian College honored students with high academic achievement at the college’s annual award and recognitions ceremony prior to the end of the spring semester.

Among those honored was Catherine Laura Brandenburg, of Fayetteville, for Outstanding Achievement in English. Coli Ellen Self, of Peachtree City, and Grant Alan Dampier, Kristi Diane Glenn and Shelley Zacherl Shoemaker, all of Fayetteville, were named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.

Dr. Mark D. Linville, of Fayetteville, a professor of philosophy at ACC, was honored with the Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award. The award is given on an annual basis by the member institutions of the Georgia Foundation for Independent Colleges, and is sponsored by the Vulcan Materials Company. Linville received the award in recognition of his dedication to teaching and scholarly work.

Atlanta Christian College is a private four-year college located near Atlanta, Ga. Founded in 1937, the college offers degree programs in seven areas of study and enrolls approximately 450 students. ACC is affiliated with the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ.
