To Fayette County Director of Transportation Lee Hearn: I wanted to send a “Thank you” for allowing me to visit with you a couple of weeks ago at your office and our discussing the situation at the intersection of Huiet Road and Ga. Highway 54.
What a pleasant surprise to see a sign regarding stopping at the white line for a left turn posted at this intersection just a few days later. I have truly noticed the ease of making a right turn since your new sign was erected as the right turn lane’s driver line of vision is now unblocked by vehicles beyond the white line in the left turn lane. The simple sign is working.
In life, you don’t see people in government be as attentive, and especially be as timely, as you were when a citizen makes a “special” request. You won my respect and have my appreciation for your efforts to make this intersection more “traffic friendly” and safer.
I truly am appreciative of your reaction to my stopping by unannounced and expressing my concerns. What would seem like a “whine” to some people, was listened to, obviously investigated, and reacted to, all in record time. You have my admiration. A job well done.
