With less than a month to go before the town’s big July 4 celebration, tyrone residents are hitting the town’s park this weekend for a big clean-up.
The sprucing up of the park runs from 7 a.m. until the last resident leaves and is the last scheduled clean up day before the town’s first July 4 celebration. Councilman Grace Caldwell is urging citizens to purchase either yellow or red, white and blue bows to help fund a lighted water fountain in Shamrock Park Lake. Bows can be purchased today from 7 a.m. until noon at Shamrock Park. After Saturday, bows can be ordered by calling Judy Jefferson at 770-486-1755, Gloria Furr at 770-487-4569 or Grace Caldwell at 678-364-0193 or the Tyrone Recreation Department at 770-487-4694. Bows are $10 each or for $25 residents can have their name placed on the bows in glitter.
