Wayne Eugene Barber Sr., 68, Fayette County, died Oct. 24, 2005. He was born Feb. 5, 1937 in Telfair County. He had served four years in the United States Air Force. He was the co-owner of Barber Auto Air, and was an active member of Harps Crossing Baptist Church. Services were at Harps Crossing Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Watson officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Barber, Fayette County; sons, Wayne and Zondra Barber Jr., Hampton, Derek and Genie Barber, McDonough, and Brent Barber, Fayette County; and six grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
