A Spalding County man was indicted this week by the Coweta County Grand Jury in connection with the slaying of Senoia businessman Ken Crook last fall.

Richard Brown,50, was indicted for malice murder, aggravated assault, two counts of burglary, possession of a gun/knife during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to Assistant District Attorney Pat Dutcher, the two burglary counts stem from intent to commit burglary at Crook’s home, and later at Crook’s Tire Center.

Brown was arrested in Spalding County March 30, exactly six months after Crook was discovered dead at his home just outside of Senoia.

Brown’s is a former employee at Crook’s Tire Center that Ken Crook managed and owned a van that was spied by witnesses near the crime scene.

Dutcher said Brown will be arraigned Tuesday or Wednesday in the Coweta County jail. If Brown pleads not guilty, a trial could occur in August or September.
