REACH program

Fayette County Board of Education has partnered with its own REACH students to provide them with valuable work experience.

Reaching Educational and Career Heights (REACH) is a program where 18-21 year old special needs students receive aid in transitioning into the working world. Community-based instruction at various schools in the county has given these students an opportunity to fine tune work skills and ethics.

At Brooks Elementary, Amber Tino has worked in the school library and has tutored younger children, and Alec Hyndman has acquired janitorial skills throughout the school year. Lauren Dix has helped shelve books and assist students at the Fayette Intermediate School library. Lindsay Hall worked at Fayette Middle in the art room assisting the teacher, cleaning the room and organizing projects.

REACH students ended the school year and the program with many new job skills and references for their resumes.
