A Fayetteville couple was arrested Thursday afternoon at their home on Princeton Trace for growing 24 suspected marijuana plants in an outdoor garden and in the master bedroom closet.

Eric Anderson, 31, and Christina Anderson, 31, were charged with felony manufacturing/cultivating marijuana and misdemeanor possession of marijuana of less than one ounce, according to Fayette County Sheriff’s spokesperson Belinda McCastle. Christina Anderson is employed by Fayette County Board of Education, McCastle said.

Agents with Fayette County Sheriff’s Drug Suppression Task Force observed the couple watering 11 suspected marijuana plants in an outdoor garden in the back yard of their home at approximately 4 PM, reports said. The plants were approximately 2-3 feet in height, McCastle said, adding that agents observed Eric Anderson smoking a suspected marijuana cigarette while watering the plants.

A check of the home revealed more suspected marijuana. Agents found 13 very small suspected marijuana plants growing inside a closet in the master bedroom.

The couple was transported to Fayette County Jail.
