Boone seeks common groundTue, 11/01/2005 - 6:23pm
By: Letters to the ...
It is election time in Peachtree City again and one can only hope we’ll have a great turnout at the polls to elect some good people to the positions closest to us in the governmental structure. I write this letter in support of one of those good people, Steve Boone, for City Council Post 3. I have been one of the many fortunate people to not only know Steve but also call him a friend. Steve is not someone who is defined in terms of policies and politics but in terms of strong character and honest friendship. I have known him for several years and have discovered what many already know about Steve: his integrity and commitment is superseded only by his devotion to his friends, family and community. Steve Boone is one of those people about whom ill words are never spoken even by those who disagree with him. One of the strongest aspects of Steve Boone’s character is his ability to overcome differences between people to find common ground while never losing focus of what is most important in any relationship dynamic. Whether in relationships among friends with whom he has much or nothing in common or among colleagues with whom he agrees or disagrees, Steve has the rare ability to focus on what’s important: doing what is best and what is right while maintaining relationships. Steve’s professional acumen is extensive and widespread. He has been personally responsible for budgets and installations many times larger than Peachtree City and has, since military retirement, built a thriving management and operations consultation practice which works extensively with the federal government. Steve and his family came to Peachtree City simply because they saw a town with unparalleled qualities and a strong dedication to its families and people. I have lived here over 25 years and see in Steve many of the same qualities as those who helped build this community. I grew up here as a child and now have children of my own. I want them to experience the same Peachtree City I did. Steve Boone has earned my respect and trust to do just that. Steve Boone will bring the strong character, ethical leadership and dedication to all of our families to our city government. I ask that you join with him in giving Peachtree City the kind of government it deserves by voting Steve Boone for City Council, Post 3. Jason Grimes |
