A Fairburn man died late Monday evening when his car ran off Sandy Creek Road, police said.

Terance A. Fancis, 20, was thrown from his 1994 Lexus GS 300 when it left the road and overturned around 11:25 p.m., according to Capt. Bryan Woodie of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. A passenger in the vehicle, Omari Grey, 18, of Lawrenceville received minor injuries in the crash.

Fancis was not wearing his seat belt but Grey was wearing his seat belt, police said.

The crash occurred on a curve on Sandy Creek Road near Ga. Highway 74, and the vehicle was traveling at a high speed when it left the road, police said. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, police said.

This is the third deadly auto crash in unincorporated Fayette County this year.
