Fishing rodeo a great catch

The fifth annual Fayette County Youth Fishing Rodeo took place on Saturday, May 20 at the Luther Glass Park in Peachtree City.

Forty-nine youngsters participated in the free event, which was organized by the Peachtree City Bass Anglers in conjunction with the Peachtree City Recreation Department and the Southern Conservation Trust.

The kids were divided into three age groups and competed for awards for the most weight, biggest fish and smallest fish. Every child and parent received a free t-shirt, and door prizes were awarded – enough for each child to win at least one.

Winners in the 5-7 age group were:
• Jake Jarret - most weight and big fish
• Emily Treon - smallest fish

Winners in the 8-9 age group were:
• Justin Roden - most weight and big fish
• Kyle Epstein - smallest fish

Winners in the 10-12 age group were:
• Tevin Wright - most weight
• Mamie Smith - big fish
• Jeremy Gura - smallest fish
