Debbie Slowik of Douglas announces the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Amanda Leigh Slowik, ti Nicholas Alexander Polgardi, son of Janet Smith Polgardi of Peachtree City and Alex Polgardi of Newnan.

The bride-elect also is the daughter of the late David Slowik of Douglas. She is the granddaughter of the late Sammy and Jane Glassman of Valdosta and the late Stephen and Tess Slowik of Douglas. She is a 2003 graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting and a master’s of accountancy. She is employed as a certified public accountant with Pricewaterhouse coopers in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Wilfred Smith of Montague, Mich., and the late Bertha Smith, and Rudy Polgardi of Bekescaba, Hungary, and Maria Polgardi of Newnan. He majored in marketing at Auburn University and is employed in home construction with ICI Development in Kennesaw.

The wedding will be June 10, 2006, at Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City.
