Tyrone Soccer is gearing upMon, 05/22/2006 - 8:40am

Tyrone Soccer is gearing up for their second season and they will have a select boys and girls team this year, either in U-14 or U-16, depending on tryouts. Tryouts will take place at the practice fields behind Sandy Creek High School, June 12-14 at 6 p.m. Players are asked to bring their equipment and water. Also new to the league this year, Silvia Riet, girls soccer coach at Sandy Creek High School, is the league’s director of coaching. Registration for the Tyrone recreation soccer league is now open and all registrations mailed by May 31 will give players a $10 discount. Fees are $45 for U-6, $50 for U-8, $60 for U-10 and U-12 and $65 for U-14. Registrations taken after May 31 will be $10 more. To download a registration form, visit www.tyronesoccer.org and mail it in to P.O. Box 433, Tyrone, Ga. 30290 or drop it by the Tyrone Recreation Department. The season wil start on Sept. 9 and will run through Nov. 18. Tyrone wil also host an age group at the Atlanta Cup during Labor Day weekend. Sponsorships for the league are also still available.
