Robyn Bryde of Parks & Mottola Realtors recently successfully completed her first triathlon.
After approximately four and a half months of intense training, Bryde headed to Mexico Beach, Florida for the one-day “Beach Blast” competition. In a triathlon, athletes compete (without stopping) in three consecutive events, usually long-distance bicycling, swimming, and running.

The Beach Blast triathlon consisted of 15 miles of bicycling, a half-mile swim in the open ocean (cue the JAWS theme song), and a 3-mile run - no small task!

Bryde far surpassed her modest goal to just “finish.” Upon completion, she ranked second in the age 20 to 24 women’s category and 9th overall among all women competing in the event.
Inspired by the experience, Bryde now plans to train for a half “Iron Man” in Miami in November. The half Iron Man consists of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike and a 13.1-mile run, all in succession. These competitions are easily among the most grueling athletic endeavors.

Prior to the half Iron Man, Bryde plans to participate in the Macon Triathlon benefiting the Georgia Industrial Children’s Home.
The May 29 event consists of a half-mile swim, bicycling for 20 miles, and a 5K run (3.1 miles). On July 4, she also plans to run in the famed Peachtree Road Race, touted as the world’s largest 10K (6.2 miles) event, in terms of number of participants (55,000).

Though the triathlon was her first, Robyn is no stranger to athletics. She enjoys mountain biking and kayaking. She also rides horses. At Parks & Mottola, she focuses primarily on commercial real estate sales & leasing.
