The Fayetteville First Baptist church will host a 90-minute simulcast event Sunday, May 21, at 7 p.m. in the ministry center, which will feature Lee Strobel, Mark Mittelberg and Dr. Erwin Lutzer, on the topic of “Unlocking the Da Vinci Code.” The event comes on the heels of the controversial movie’s release Friday, May 19.

The outreach event is designed for both Christians and seekers who have read the book, seen the movie, or who are curious about the tremendous response to the popular work of fiction, “The Da Vinci Code.”

Of the hosts, Strobel is a former spiritual skeptic and best-selling author of “The Case for Christ,” Mittelberg is executive director of evangelism, Willow Creek Association and co-author of “Becoming a Contagious Christian,” and Lutzer is senior pastor of Moody Church in Chicago and author of “The Da Vinci Deception.”

The event will open with footage of Strobel at the Louvre Museum in Paris, the site of the fictional murder that opens the book. Lutzer will then address the historical issues raised by both the book and the movie. All three will wrap up the event with a live question and answer session for the satellite audience.

Fayetteville First Baptist is on Stonewall Avenue about a block east of the Fayette County Courthouse.
