Dr. and Mrs. John Avant of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Christi Ann, to Matthew Peter Watson, son of Buck and Francie Watson of Houston, Texas.

The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Landmark Christian High School and a 2005 graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University where she earned a bachelor of arts in musical theatre. She currently is employed as a part-time ministry associate to the United Nations while pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.

The groom-elect is a 2002 graduate of Northeast Christian Academy and a 2006 graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University, earning a bachelor of science in international business.

The wedding will be Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville.

Following a honeymoon, the couple will reside in New York City.
