Starr's Mill's Lady Panthers (17-2-1) avenged their first loss of the season by defeating Harrison in the AAAAA state soccer championship on Saturday night.

Gina Goforth scored the first and third goals for Starr's Mill in their 3-1 win while Kelley O'Hara netted the game winner. The win was the perfect way for the team's graduating seniors to leave and also allows Coach Greg Shifflett to retire on top.

At the beginning of the year, the team stated three goals for the season; beat McIntosh, win the region championship and win a state title. Missions accomplished.
