The state baseball playoffs started on Friday for most teams, although Northgate swept Westside Macon on Thursday; 9-1 and 12-2.

Local winners on Friday were Starr's Mill over Groves, 9-1 and 14-0; East Coweta over Glynn Academy, 1-0 and 16-1; and Whitewater over Henry County, 5-4 and 11-3.

Sandy Creek was swept by Hardaway, 3-2 and 8-5; Fayette County fell to Brunswick, 6-1 and 9-0 and Landmark Christian lost to Bowdon, 10-2 and 20-12.
