Starr's Mill and Mcintosh girls tennis teams make final fourThu, 05/11/2006 - 11:33am

Though they are in different classifications, for at least a few more months, the Starr’s Mill and McIntosh girls tennis teams, will both be playing for a chance to win state titles at Stone Mountain this weekend.
The Lady Panthers advanced to the state semi-finals by defeating Coffee, 3-0 and Glynn Academy, 4-1. Winners for the girls in those two matches were Jessica Lange, Caroline Smith and the doubles teams of Lindsay Dillon and Faith Hall and Adriana Acuna and Jenna MacPherson. The Starr’s Mill boys were eliminated from the state playoffs by Houston County, 3-0. McIntosh’s girls defeated Evans and Warner Robins, both by a score of 3-0. The winners for the Lady Chiefs in both of those matches were Marybeth Black, Kendall Wilde and Stephanie Daughenbaugh. They will take on Etowah today at Stone Mountain and will face the winner of Chapel Hill and Marist if they win. The McIntosh boys were knocked out of the state playoffs by Lakeside, Evans, 3-0. login to post comments |
