•The Peachtree City Tennis Center recently hosted the Peachtree City Junior Tennis Open and the local boys dominated the play on their home courts, winning four of the five titles.
Austin Tilton won the Boys 16 title, while Tyler Burnette won the Boys 14, Austin Emmet won the Boys 12 and Alex Phillips won the Boys 10. Tilton, a freshman, plays for the McIntosh High School tennis team. • Peachtree City resident Rebecca Timmis is having a solid sophomore season for the Washington and Lee University women’s tennis team. Timmis, a McIntosh graduate, currently has a 9-3 singles record playing various singles positions and a 13-2 doubles record. For her career, Timmis has logged a 14-5 singles record and a 23-4 doubles record. During the fall season, Timmis won the “B” doubles draw at the ITA Southeast Regional with freshman Tori Christmas. • The Peachtree City Tennis Center is proud to announce Frank Rogers, a Junior USTA Team Tennis participant with Coach Craig Healy has received a day camp scholarship through the USTA Georgia at the Emory Eagles Total Tennis Camp. Rogers, 11, is a fifth grader at Braelin Elementary School and he has worked with Healy for the past three years. login to post comments |
