The Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department will hold the 6th annual Touch-A-Truck Health and Wellness Fair on May 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both events will be held at Shakerag Knoll, at 191 McIntosh Trail in Peachtree City. This event brings together all sorts of trucks, diggers, sweepers, semis, mixers, haulers, police & fire vehicles and more parked in one place. Kids of all ages can see, touch, climb on, over, under and generally have a great time just being around the big rigs. The event has been a success in the past and the Recreation Department is hoping for an even better time this year. Several hundred residents and people from the surrounding area participated in last year’s event. After guests tour the big rigs, they can visit Shakerag Knoll for the Health and Wellness Fair. Information will be provided on dental health from the Colgate van, chiropractic screenings from Andreone Sports and Family Chiropractic, and fitness testing with Sue Bozgoz, a fitness instructor for Peachtree City. The event is free and open to the public. “There will be hot dogs, chips, cotton candy, smoothies, soft drinks and other refreshments to make the event even more festive. Come on out and bring the whole family to spend a leisurely day of seeing up close some of the vehicles we see everyday on our highways,” said Makeda Johnson from the Peachtree City Recreation Department.
