Southern Conservation Trust will present their most requested nature program today 6 p.m. “Snake Man” Jim Rodgers will bring his large collection of reptiles to the Flat Creek Nature Center in Peachtree City. Learn fact from fiction about one of the most misunderstood and persecuted creatures on the planet. Visitors will be entertained and educated about these common inhabitants of our back yards. The program will cover snake identification, their habits, and what to do if you find a snake. Jim Rodgers will dispel the myths about snakes that have been passed down for generations. SCT is hosting a series of Nature Discovery programs for families at the Flat Creek Nature Center throughout 2006. On June 22, Audubon birder Allyson Read will discuss attracting and identifying backyard birds. Admission is free for Trust members (you may join at the door) and $2 for all others, to cover the cost of feeding the snakes. For their safety, children must be over 5 to attend. For directions or more information on this and upcoming SCT community events, call SCT at 770-486-7774, or email info@sctlandtrust.org.
