Stella Parton, sister of Dolly Parton, will be in town today to headline the 4th annual Johnny Cochran Celebration Of Life concert benefiting Promise Place, the Council on Domestic Violence that serves Fayette County. Stella Parton is an award winning singer, songwriter, actress and author who has 27 chart singles including a Billboard Top 10. She has appeared in four movies, TV sitcoms as well as on The Today Show and Good Morning America. She is a devoted advocate for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. The concert is held annually at the home of long time Fayette County resident Johnny Cochran who hosts this free event every year in his back yard on his birthday. Country music groups from all over Georgia and many from Nashville travel to Fayetteville to participate in this family style event which is supported by Chick-fil-A, Coca-Cola and many local businesses. The concert is at 305 Tyrone Road, Fayetteville, and starts at 5 p.m. Bring your own lawnchair and non-alcoholic beverages.
