The Georgia Department of Transportation wants to realign Kingswood Drive and Hilo Road on Ga. Highway 92 south and install a traffic signal at the newly-configured intersection.

The plans will be presented for review at a public information open house Monday, May 22 at the Fayette County Public Library in Fayetteville from 5-7 p.m. DOT representatives will be on hand to discuss the project though there will be no formal presentation.

The DOT is proposing to rebuild this section of Ga. Highway 92 with two 12-foot lanes, each having shoulders 10 feet wide, according to the preliminary construction plans. Only two feet of the shoulder area will be paved on either side of the road.

Local residents wanting to learn more about the project are encouraged to attend the open house and express their thoughts and concerns, DOT officials said.
