Kristy Chase

Chase is currently in her second year at the preschool, where she had been teaching two-year-olds. She assumes the position previously held by Stacy Alread, who will become the church’s treasurer and media specialist.

Chase received a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland University College, and an A.A. in education from the Laramie County Community College in Wyoming. She also attended the University of Wyoming, where she took additional courses in education and reading instruction. She is a graduate of East Coweta High School.

She and her husband, Joey, have been married for 10 years. They have two daughters, Anna, 9, and Ali, 3.

As she assumes her role as the preschool director, Chase says that she looks forward to “growing the preschool program, continuing with its strong base of Biblical practices, God’s creation, and examples of Jesus’ love, and maintaining as well as implementing new concepts in learning.” She also hopes to achieve stronger lines of communication and a greater sense of community in the preschool family.”

Preschool board chairman Dan Lorton says, “Kristy loves the Lord and has a keen interest in the spiritual and academic development of the children. She is a conscientious worker and will lead the staff by example. She brings great new ideas which will enhance an already strong preschool program.”

Fall registration is currently open, but space is limited. The school offers a two-day program for two-year-olds, three days a week for three-year-olds, and four days a week for four-year-olds, all from 9 a.m. - noon. Spanish, music, and chapel time are offered as enrichment additions.

The school also offers a Play Day program for one-year old children and babies ages 6-12 months on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until noon. There is a lunch bunch program on Tuesdays and Thursdays that can extend the day until 1 p.m.

To register, or for more information, call the preschool office, 770-716-7786 or the church office, 770-461-1487.
