Several soccer teams eliminated from title hunt

Starr's Mill's varsity boys and girls soccer teams dispatched of some old foes on Friday night to advance to the AAAAA semi-finals this week. The Lady Panthers took an early lead against Parkview and held on for a 5-4 win, while the boys got a 1-0 win over Brookwood.

For other local schools, it was a mixed bag.

McIntosh's boys lost to Chamblee 2-0 on Friday, while the girls won 3-0 over Forsyth Central. The Whitewater boys lost to Marist 2-1 in penalty kicks on Saturday night, while the girls defeated Lakeside-DeKalb 2-1. Fayette County's girls lost a 1-0 game to Harrison.

The four teams remaining will play their semi-final games this week.

Starr's Mill's boys will take on Walton on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., while the girls will host Collins Hill on Wednesday at 7 p.m. McIntosh will host Marist on Wednesday and Whitewater will play at Woodward Academy on Wednesday as well. Times for those two games have yet to be determined.
