Fairburn Farmer’s Market is set to openFri, 05/05/2006 - 12:18pm

Local farmers and artisans from Bear Creek Farms, Fairy Wood Thicket, Jane Storey’s Knitting and Woodcrafts, Puck’s Farm, Scharko Farms and Titania’s Soaps will feature the fruits of their labors at the Fairburn Farmer’s Market on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. beginning May 6 and running through Oct. 28 at the city’s Historic Freight Depot located at 30 West Broad Street. Fresh produce grown by local farmers from South Fulton and adjoining counties will be featured along with music from local musicians and cooking demonstrations. Fresh produce will be available by season. Those items include: •In spring – Arugula, Asparagus, beets cabbage, carrots, collards, green onions, kale, lettuce, mustard greens, peas, salad greens, salad mix, spinach, fresh herbs, fresh flowers •In summer – Cucumber, edamame soybeans, garlic, green bean, green onions, kale, okra, onions, peas, potatoes, sweet corn, swiss chard, tomatoes, blueberries, figs, summer squash, winter squash, zucchini, fresh herbs, fresh flowers, •In fall – Kale, peas, salad greens, salad mix, spinach, tomatoes, summer squash, gourds, winter squash, zucchini, fresh herbs, fresh flowers Additional products available include baked goods, bath/body natural products, preserves & jellies, soap and bedding plants.
