Panther boys finish third in region, qualify for seven state meet eventsThu, 05/04/2006 - 12:47pm

Starr’s Mill hosted the region 4-AAAAA boys track meet on Saturday and Monday and local athletes performed well with 10 boys earning bids to the AAAAA state meet. To qualify for the state meet, one must finish within the top two positions in their event, while one must finish in the top six to score points for the school in the meet. Those scoring points for their schools were: 100 meter dash 200 meter dash 400 meter dash 800 meter run 1,600 meter run 3,200 meter run 110 meter hurdles 300 meter hurdles 4x100 meter relay 4x400 meter relay High jump Pole vault Long jump Triple jump Discus Shot put Overall, Starr’s Mill placed third, while East Coweta placed sixth and Fayette County placed seventh. login to post comments |
