Official Fayette County Historian-for-Life Carolyn Cary holds a cake shaped like a history book during a dinner party Saturday night honoring her accomplishments in perpetuating and preserving local history. She co-edited and co-authored the county’s only history book, campaigned to restore the fire-ravaged courthouse in 1982 and helped start the county’s Chamber of Commerce.
