Alien uproar: Just follow the law

I am amazed at how long it has taken for Congress to get around to creating a bill designed to address the illegal immigration issue. I am also amazed at the push-back by any American citizen.

The term itself, “illegal alien,” says it all. They are here illegally. Who are they? That’s one question we need to know. Are they truly immigrants seeking safe haven and a better life for their families, or are they terrorists seeking entry into our country to harm us?

Yes, we are a nation of immigrants. The only ones who can truly say they are natives are the American Indians. The rest of us here can thank our relatives and forefathers for their dedication to a dream of building a better life, a safe haven where all people can live together in harmony and peace.

But we are also a nation of laws designed to be just and fair. Without the law, we have chaos, and in chaos we find the slippery slopes of destruction. We are one of the last remaining nations that truly thrives on liberty and justice for all, a haven to all.

Support your congressmen and women as they work to bringing order to this issue. It’s not about Hispanics or any other people. It is about bringing order to an issue that has bubbled over into a truly chaotic mess.

Illegal aliens, no matter what nationality they are, are here illegally. If Mexico and Canada can’t control their borders, especially in a time when terrorists abound, then our nation needs to take the steps to stem the tide of illegal immigration and revisit how we address quotas on legal immigration.
